Works begin in the revitizen of the Hebrew cemetery in Arber

The Office of the European Union (BE), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Pristina Community are due to begin work today in the revising of the Jewish cemetery in Arberi, originally at 10:00.
Jewish graves in Arber date from the 19th century and are included on the list of cultural heritage sites protected by the Kosovo government.
The works to be implemented will include identifying and recording the history of the Jewish presence, decorating and regeneration of the surrounding area, as well as creating a small square for religious activities.
This event is part of the Comprehensive Intercommunist Dialogue project for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage funded by the EU Peace and Stability Instrument ( Ic SP / The EU) and implemented by the UNDP.
Attending this event will be Burbuke Bakija-Deva, Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Maria Sukokko, UNDP Permanent Representative and representatives of the European Union Office in Kosovo, the Pristina municipality and the Jewish community.
