Pompeii: Assange to be extradited to US

State Secretary Mike Pompeo expressed confidence today that Great Britain will extradite the founder of WikiLeaks Julian Assang in the United States, where he is accused of spying, despite the fact that for this work he may receive the death penalty. “We already made the request, so he will be extradited to [...]
“We have already applied, so he will be extradited to the US,” said Pompeo to Ecuador's media during his visit to this state.
He did not further comment on the case, but added that the US administration believes the man who, as he said, exposed and threatened the lives of American soldiers, should be punished.
The hearing for the possible extradition of Assange to the US will be held in London by the end of February next year.
Assange is currently in a London prison, serving a 50-week prison sentence because of a violation of the caukon conditions, after spending seven years at the Ecuador embassy in London, in order to avoid extradition to Sweden, where he is accused of rape.
