Opposition protest in Albania, this is US Embassy appeal

In a statement, the embassy gives information to its citizens about where the protests will be held, warning them that it may be violent and that the duration is not known.

A major demonstration is expected to take place near the Prime Minister's Office on Monday, July 8, 2019, beginning around 8:00. The group aims to demonstrate against the Albanian government and can move to different countries in Tirana. The timing of the expected demonstration is unknown. Recent demonstrations have involved violence. Security forces have used water and tear gas to disperse the crowds. US Embassy staff and family members are heading to avoid all collection points and places where demonstrations are inevitable or consistently”, the US Embassy reports.
