Serbs have 45 days to argue on his extradition, but still there will be North Macedonia's justice organs that will decide whether there is reason for extradition.
Lawyer Naser Raufi, for Alsat Television, announced that his request to release Morina has been rejected by the Criminal Court's Council for Organised Crime.
Raufi says domestic institutions are not being negligent and that in time they are responding to his client's demands and complaints.
Alsat days ago announced that even in the event of extradition request, authorities in Northern Macedonia can use the next article of the Law for extradition, which says that if there are doubts that in the state where extradition is required, the trial will not be fair or may be violated by the person's security in question, then the extradition request can be rejected and the person released.
Article 66, Law Point 3 for International Criminal Co-operation
The minister will not allow the extradition of the person for whom extradition has been requested, if there are serious reasons for doubt that he could be subjected to torture, or any other kind of cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment, or the pronunciation of the death penalty”.
Morina, in addition to Kosovo's citizenship, has citizenship of Great Britain, which also, like Kosovo authorities, has expressed interest in his release. /AlsatM
