The outgoing British prime minister, Theresa May, said she would leave the post this month, with a mix of pride and frustration, having failed in her central promise to lead the country into the Brex or exit from the European Union.
May, which failed to convince parliament to vote on a negotiated agreement with the European Union, said it underestimated the lawmakers' opposition.
