The Paris meeting, which was scheduled to be held on July 1st, as the continuation of the Berlin summit, has been declared failed for weeks. It was an initiative undertaken by German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and French President Emmanuel Macron, to resolve the node about dialogue mediated by the European Union, writes today “Koha Ditore”
EU foreign policy chief Federika Moghrini failed to finalise this process within her mandate. After Paris's failure, there is no other date when it can be kept. Currently, the EU is awaiting new institutions and is not known what the approach to dialogue will be.
Life Krasniqi, an researcher at the Kosovo Democratic Institute (KDI), has said the Paris meeting is not being realised, not because of Kosovo, but because of Serbia's unwillingness to take responsibility.
“Tarifa to Serbia is only the pretext being used by President Aleksandar Vuciq, who seems not to be strongly interested in reaching agreement with Kosovo”, Krasniqi has stressed. According to her, Kosovo has often been able to boycott meetings, as a result of Serbia's destructive approach in implementing Brussels' agreements, and also when Belgrade has manipulated by using the dialogue process to lobby against Kosovo's citizenship.
