Kichmari: New elections, parties must focus on reforming the economic, social system

Former Kosovo Ambassador to Austria and Australia Sabri Kicmari has said society in our country is characterized by serious social status, high unemployment rates, low economic growth, and widespread social despair by politics and the state. All of this, since politics has failed to create a [...]
All of this, since politics has failed to create an end to employment and solid economic growth.
The absence of a social welfare state system has led to the lack of rational distribution of public goods. This has resulted in increasing differences between social class”, Kicmar said.
He has indicated that the new elections are a good chance for political subjects to review their basic programming themes regarding our country's economic and social system.
” Instead of the political subjects spending more time on such topics, they focus on unproductive themes (e.g. Dialogue with Serbia), without content, and make promises without covering (eg. Visa liberalisation). They would have to spend time analyzing the possibilities of reforming our economic and social system”, the former ambassador says.
Kicmari has presented three types of social states in the Western world in a short version:
The Scandinavian model of the social state focuses on widespread social care and distribution. This is about the principle of equality of all members of society despite their contribution and status in society. This model is a kind of universal model of the social state. The system is aimed at reducing income differences through legal distribution of public goods. This model dominates Sweden.
The European conservative model is based on social insurance, pensions, unemployment insurance and disease. The aim of the state is to maintain social standards. The distinctive features of this model are: there is an outstanding focus on social security through salary work based on class status and social and family status. This model dominates Germany.
The Angloxo Liberal Model. This model dominates market and private security logic. According to this model, the primat of individual responsibility is established and does not prefer strong social security networks. This model dominates in the United States.
The Kosovo citizen is a worker. He is able to fulfill his obligation in relation to his society, family and himself if he is given the opportunity to work. The fact that he is unemployed is a structural problem and not his fault. Political parties must carefully analyse and determine for the preferred version of Kosovo's”, Kicmar has said
