Kosovo's former chief negotiator for talks with Serbia, Edita Tahiri, has met in Brussels several times with the European Union for Foreign Policy and Security's top representative, Federica Moghrini, with what he has created different assessments of the five-year work of European top diplomat. According to her, until a year ago, Moghrin has defended European principles in the Balkans, since he recently violated just such principles, the newspaper “Zeri” wrote.
Even Minister of European Integration in the Government of Kosovo, Gift Hoxha, is not satisfied with Mogher's current work in relation to the newest state in Europe. Hoxha has major disappointments especially with the visa issue with the EU, but also for the Euro-integration process.
We have progress, and we have a deadlock during our mandate. It's done enough, I think it could be more. Our citizens want evidence within this policy. We have provided evidence that we are more European than many EU countries. Unfortunately, the global risks, EU foreign policy seems to be unseen, while the injustice for visa liberalisation has been able to treat the conforms of achieved”, Hoxha has said.
According to her, it was the statements of Mogher and EU officials, who increased the expectations of politicians but also of Kosovo citizens for the removal of visas.
Mogher's character was big, but we've been waiting for more. We had enough reasons and arguments for that. It is known what senior EU superiors have declared for visas and Mrs. Moghrin, which also brought a delay, which we cannot address. We have carried out our tasks with the international community, implemented reforms, the SAA and a series of related actions with the EU. We have challenges, but we need more support from European mechanisms”, Hoxha added.
