Ali Babacan, according to the AP, with this step warned of intentions to form a rival political party.
Babacan, who was also minister of economics and foreign affairs, announced that he was leaving the Justice and Development Party due to deep disagreements over “, values and ideas”.
The AP broadcasts that Babacan plans to establish a party together with former President Abdullah Gul and others who are dissatisfied with Erdogan's rule.
Likewise, former Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu reportedly intends to establish a party.
