Elections could be held in September

Following Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj's resignation, the country will face early elections, because within the ruling coalition PAN yet no attempts have been made to reach a consensus to announce a common candidate for Kosovo's new prime minister.
Shortly after Haradinaj's resignation, he has stressed that the country must go to the polls and that the people must decide for the new government. With the idea of new elections all opposition parties, but also parties within the PAN.
But for The PDK is still not looking at elections as a solution. This party has claimed “Zen” that they will agree to decisions to come on the part of Kosovo President Hashim Thaci. Officials of political issues in the country stress that because of the non-unity for a new candidate on the part of the PAN, elections are expected to be held no further than at the end of this year.
Under the Kosovo Constitution, if the prime minister resigns, the president in consultation with the coalition that has received the majority of votes could mandate the new candidate to form Government, which must be elected by majority in the Assembly.
