A ceremony today marks the start of the “Quality project, accountability, integrity and transparency in higher education (QAINT)”.

This project is three years old and aims to establish the higher education system in Kosovo at the level of international standards of quality, transparency, integrity and accountability, and is in line with the Austrian government's continued support, especially in the area of higher education, to help integrate and adapt senior education systems in Kosovo with European region standards for quality and results in work.

Such support is provided through development of the capacities of public universities for implementing the principles of the European Area for Higher Education (EHEA) and through improved quality and raising the importance of educational and training programmes for the labour and wider market.

The long-term impact of this project is to improve the quality and competitiveness of the higher education sector to contribute to the country's social and economic development.

This project is funded by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) with contributions from the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology ( MAST) and applies from the Kosovo Educational Centre (KEC), the Organisation for Building Quality at Education (ORCA) and the Centre for Social Innovation (ZSI).

A short presentation about the project will be shown at the start of the project and two short speeches from: Gernt Pfander, ambassador of the Republic of Austria and Shyqiri Bytyqi, minister of education.

Also present will be the reactors of the institutions of higher education in Kosovo, representatives of the Kosovo Agency for Discension, representatives of the ADA office in Kosovo, government officials, experts and other personalities.
