The Vetevendosje movement is considering that the process of transforming the Kosovo Army has not yet begun to be realised.
This opposition party has addressed criticism of the country's president, Hashim Thaci, and Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, who, according to them, are blocking the functioning of the military.
VV deputy Rexhep Selimi at a media conference said there has been over a month since the first 120-day phase of the military's transition has passed and still no restructuring of the KSF.
Selimi expressed concern that why the government after seven months is not seeing the need for Kosovo to have armies in line with its constitutional duties.
The process of transforming the Kosovo Security Force through the adoption of the legal package of December 14th of 2018 has not yet begun to be realised. We are very concerned that even after 7 months of adopting these laws, the Government has not seen the need for Kosovo to have its own army in line with its constitutional duties”, Selimi said.
According to MP Selimi, the president is not willing to decree generals and department directors. Meanwhile, for the prime minister, he said he has been singled out with the adoption of laws late last year and that the ministry has turned into employing party militants.
The president will not decree key leaders, so generals and department directors. The patterns are different, but personal. The prime minister has only sufficed that in his mandate these three laws have been voted and has not taken steps to implement those laws. And the ministry and the defence ministry are in chaos, and their main activity remains to fill the ministry with militant ruling parties”
MP Selimi, among other things, listed all targets that have not been realised for the past four months, which, according to him, would have to be completed.
“during the first 4 month period has had to achieve these goals. Under a reshuffle of the KSF Ministry of Defence and Land Force Command at the General Staff of the Kosovo Security Force. During this period the Ministry of the Kosovo Security Force and the KFT has had to switch to the new organisational table and staff are deployed to new positions. This disorganized object. And also below two has had to become the deployment of the leading element as KSF chief of staff, secretary and generals and directors of directors at the Ministry of Defence and KSF, and this goal not realised”, said deputy Selimi
Unlike December 14, 2018 Kosovo has adopted three laws transforming KSF into Army
