O SB decides Mediterranean Conference to be held in Tirana

Tirana will host the OSCE Mediterranean Conference at the end of October, with 57 member states and with the participation of Mediterranean countries such as Egypt, Jordan, Israel, Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia. In addition to these invited countries, there will be a series of international organisations as well as Asian partners as: Afghanistan, Australia, Japan, Korea and Thailand.
Minister of Task for Europe and Foreign Affairs Gent Cakaj, in a post on the social Facebook network, reports that the decision was made by the OSCE Ambassadors' Permanent Council.
“This decision testifies once again to the support and trust that member states of O The SEU is towards Albania. ” writes Cakay.
Holding this conference in Albania culminates in our country's chairmanship of the Mediterranean Contact Group under Albania's O chairmanship The SEU in 2020.
“Focusing on this Conference will be the 25-year experience of O partnership The SEU with Mediterranean countries, halting the importance of dialogue in meeting common challenges, but identifying opportunities for co-operation. ” writes Cakay.
It reports that its “Thematics of its sessions will affect the best practices in the fight against terrorism, violent extremism, promoting youth as a security factor in boosting stability and building communication bridges between the two shores of the Middle East. ”
The conference will also underline the essential role of interreligious and intercultural dialogue in promoting security in the OSCE area in relations with Mediterranean partners.
