Daka: With Thaci, we did not discuss election date because constitutional opportunities should be exhausted

Central Election Commission Chairman Valdete Daka after the meeting he held with the president of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, said they discussed constitutional deadlines if elections are held, while stressing they have not talked about any specific date.

Daka expressed the CEC's readiness for extraordinary elections.

The “not because it cannot be discussed the date without taking all constitutional opportunities... For extraordinary elections we have our options”, she said.

The CEC chairman has also stated that if elections are announced, they will seek the necessary means from the government.

The “those are the issues discussed after the elections are announced, if the CEC is naturally declared, requires the necessary tools from the government and is set for the budget, because this was not an election year, and that's why we haven't had the necessary budget, and if elections are declared, then the CEC will act like the other”, Daka said.

Kosovo President Hashim Thaci has hosted the 6-+ deputies, who also represent non- majority communities in Kosovo, yesterday, while still not inviting representatives of major parties to the country.
