Robert Joseph “bob” Dole, born on July 22, 1923 in Russell, Russell County, Kansas -- is an American politician, senator and former presidential candidates.
He represented Kansas in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1961-1969 and in the US Senate from 1969 to 1996 served as Republican leader from 1985 to 1996.
He was the republican candidate for president in the 1996 elections and nominated as vice president in the 1976 presidential election.
