The category, which received about nine thousand visas in Germany from August 2018

A new regulation that is allowed to bring relatives to Germany even beneficiaries of the supplementary defence (subcidiare) came into force a year ago.

Previously, the family reunion was banned for two years.

The ruling parties in Germany, the CSU, CSU and SDP had agreed after hard negotiations to allow the family union even for this category.

But they limited the number of positive answers to the demands, however, to 1,000 per month.

The supplementary defense is given mainly to war refugees who are not personally persecuted in their homeland but are at risk there.
