The government in Sofia gave the approval of Defence Minister Krasimir Karacanov to sign a contract for aircraft purchase.
Deputy Defence Minister Atanas Zaprjananov said the contract includes aircraft, weapons, equipment and pilot training.
The planes are expected to surrender by 2023.
The AP recalls the decision must be approved by parliament, but it will be relatively easy, as the ruling coalition has the majority.
