“We are concerned about this action and we continue to encourage Iranian authorities to descant the situation in the region”, May's spokesman told media.
“We've been present for a long time in the Persian Gulf. We constantly monitor the security situation and are committed to preserving freedom of navigation in line with international law “, a British prime minister's spokesman said.
British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt told Al Jazeera that London is following the situation following an Iranian effort to capture the British tank.
Three Iranian ships today tried to block the passage of the British tanker through the Hormuz Strait, but withdrew after being warned by a British warship, the British government said.
The incident occurred nearly a week after the British Royal Brigade seized an Iranian tank near Gibraltar, with suspicion of violating sanctions against Syria.
On the other hand, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard denied British Navy charges, claiming there was no conflict with foreign ships, especially with English ships.
