Former United States Vice-President Joe Biden gave his first major foreign policy speech as the Democratic Party's presidential candidate.
Speaking in New York, Biden criticised US President Donald Trump's appearance on the world stage and promised to fight authoritarianism and global instability.
Beden, who is the favourite among the democratic candidates for the 2020 elections, said that the first “American” of Trump is “aggressive, short-term and threatens US interests and democracy across the world”.
The world's “Democrats expect America to adhere to the values that unite us... Donald Trump appears to be on the other team”, Biden said.
The Democrats will elect their candidate in July 2020, who will then challenge Trump in the November elections.
Biden also spoke of his intentions in Iran, Afghanistan, Yemen, and others.
He was vice president of former US President Barack Obama's administration.
