Ahmeti: The most distant election after two months

Chairman The PSD, Shpend Ahmeti, in a telephone link to RTV Dukagjini has said Haradinaj's resignation has been surprising to him and his political subject.

He says there has been a meeting with Ramush Haradinaj yesterday and has not seen any indicators on the latter that he would resign.

Ahmeti says his party is prepared for new elections and that the leadership of this party will meet several times during the weekend to discuss the created situation.

The constitution has its own limits. If a prime minister resigns, the president should start consultations with political parties and seek out the winning coalition if there is any other option to retain the government. I say that to discuss the deadlines... that would be the maximum two months from today if there is no readiness for any new government we go to the elections”, he said.

He says there is no willingness to continue the government because the LDK has been declared for elections, and according to him reports NISMA-PDK is not good to continue this coalition.

Chairman The PSD has said it will hold discussions with other political subjects for any possible coalition. He says he had meetings with LDK and NISMA.

“The LDK has been awaiting its own domestic elections and we have not known who we will discuss with. Any candidate who can become president in LDK can have different preferences... we've said the red line for us is PDK”

Our main argument is to cross the threshold, but we pretend to keep at least these deputies we have”.

He has said that anyone coming to the government will have a very hard job.
