At the meeting, it was estimated that the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo continues to be the most serious institution in terms of public money management.
The head of the Assembly, Kadri Veselini, said transparency and accountability are not only constitutional principles in terms of spending public money, but are legal obligations that any institution should follow in a precise manner.
Kosovo's “State loses millions of euros as a result of corruption, mismanagement and lack of fair implementation of the Law on Public Finance Management. This money could be used for the welfare of our citizens, investing in education, health and job creation. The Auditor's office and the General Auditor will have my support for preserving public money and the welfare of citizens”, Chief Prime Minister Wessel stressed.
He invited the State Prosecutor to look intently at the findings of the Auditor Office's reports of all institutions and to take the necessary actions against public money abusers.
