President Thaci has thanked former Commander Clark for his contribution to our country's freedom by sharing the Order of Liberty.
I wish to thank General Clark for coming to Kosovo, at his home, among the people who love and respect him. This visit is special because together we celebrate Kosovo's freedom, which has taken place with the extraordinary contribution to the general. Gratitude for your work and leadership. We've had excellent conversations with Clinton and Albright, about the historic role you've all shown, so that the Milosevic dictator can leave, celebrate freedom, the citizens of Kosovo will return and continue their lives and we will continue with NATO membership and other organisations. As president, I will share the Freedom Order medal for your commitment to the freedom of Kosovo”, Thaci said.
While Clark said it is a special feeling when after 20 years of ending the war, he sees democracy.
“Thank you for the honor you gave me and my family. It is a very special experience to come to Kosovo 20 years after the tragedy and see democracy, leadership and development. The future will be bright because the people of Kosovo are making the right decisions. They're moving west. We'll invest and work with you in the future. I hope to see Kosovo part of the EU and NATO. I want to see this country as a NATO member because there are countries that love peace, and Kosovo is such a country”, Clark said.
