Thousands of Venezuelan citizens have emigrated to Peru in an effort to escape the strictest immigration laws expected to take effect.
From the local midnight (05:00 GMT) on Saturday, Venezuelan citizens must have a valid passport and visa to enter Peru.
Some 4 million people have fled Venezuela since 2015, according to the United Nations.
The country's economy has been destroyed by bringing high unemployment and lack of food and medicine, and hundreds of thousands of people are said to need humanitarian assistance.
