Tragic: Migrator and daughter kill by crossing the border (Photo)

The grim reality of the immigrant crisis has been captured by pictures showing the lifeless bodies of a father and his daughter drowned after they had tried to cross the Rio Grande River to Texas.

Photos taken on Monday show Oscar Alberto Martinez, 26-year-old Ramirez, and his daughter Valerian, facing the river. The hand of the 23-month-old child is seen hanging from her father's neck, showing that she was getting caught in the final moments, follows Periscope from The Guadia.

Mexican newspapers compared photographs with those in 2015 when a young Syrian boy named Alan Kurd drowned them on the Greek island of Kos.

Their bodies were discovered on the banks of the river near Matamoros, Mexico City, just a mile [1 km] from the international bridge.

According to Julia Le Duc, reporter for the newspaper La Yornada, Martinez Ramirez arrived at Matamoros on Sunday, hoping to receive asylum from American authorities along with his wife, Vanessa Avalos, and their daughter.

But when she realized that it would take weeks to complete the asylum process, Martinez decided to cross the border by swimming, Le Duc said.

He crossed the border with the little girl and left her on the American side of the border. Then she came back to take his wife, but the little girl had turned into water after him. When he returned to rescue him, the sea current took them both,” told Le Duc, Guardian.

As part of Trump's migration policies, Donald Trump's administration has led Mexican asylum seekers to wait for the answer to asylum in Mexico ) a process that may last for years. Thus, migrants have turned to increasingly dangerous ways to cross into the United States. /Periscope
