Thaci: NATO Membership Will Be Faster With the US

The president of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, has now hosted the team's support leader within the US Department of Defence for Kosovo, Abigail Robinson, who thanked him for his long-term contribution to the Kosovo Security Force transition process in the Kosovo Army.

This team, according to President Thaci, had supported the transformation of the Kosovo Security Force since 2014, following the strategic revision of the security sector.

“given the crucial role of the US in NATO, we are sure that Kosovo's integration process in the Atlantic Alliance will be much faster”, President Thaci said.

While the leader of the support team under the US Department of Defence for Kosovo, Abigail Robinson, stressed that since 1999 it has been an honour and privilege for him to deal with Kosovo and contribute to the process of statehood and the creation of security structures in Kosovo.

“I was happy that I worked in Kosovo and for Kosovo during these years”, Robinson said.

President Thaci and Robinson are confident that co-operation between the US DIR team and the Kosovo Security Force will continue in the future.
