Thaci: Government made strategicly wrong actions, so dialogue is blocked

Thaci has said that to this it has resulted from the hasty actions and decisions of institutions of the Republic of Kosovo.

By alluding to the secret meeting that took place in Berlin by the people of Prime Minister Haradinaj, the president said these actions have seriously damaged the respect and support of our Western partners for Kosovo.

Yesterday and today, I was informed by European partners that after numerous attempts at success, the Paris Summit, as a continuation of the Berlin summit, will definitely not be held. The continuation of the Kosovo dialogue, Serbia, led by the EU, was planned with unique and strong French-German support.

The hasty, uncoordinated and strategically wrong decisions of the state institutions of the Republic of Kosovo have seriously damaged the respect and support of our Western partners for Kosovo. As a result, our international partners, unfortunately today hold Kosovo responsible for blocking dialogue, for failing to meet in Paris, and for promoting the decision on visa liberalisation for our citizens.

The failure of the process launched in Berlin and the annulment of the Paris Summit should be a moment of reflection for local actors and international leadership and support of the dialogue process for normalisation and reconciliation between states and our peoples. The stalemate in dialogue and annulment of the Paris Summit for both countries -- Kosovo and Serbia -- marks a step back for the European future. Therefore, I call on the EU and the US not to stop their efforts to resume dialogue and reach a peaceful agreement. HTH
