The UN Security Council in New York today will discuss UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres' report on UNMIK's work for the period from 16 January to 15 May this year.
At this meeting, Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic has warned that he will seek continued review of the UN issue of Kosovo and the need for UNMIK to remain committed to implementing the determined goals, without changing the mandate.
The Kosovo police's action against crime and corruption in the north, including the arrest of a UNMIK member who had taken to the streets in his car to prevent Kosovo police from carrying out its action, will be on the focus of the session.
Otherwise, the US and Great Britain have asked several times for UN KS hearings to be reduced, taking into account the new reality created following Kosovo's declaration of independence, while reducing staff and budget for the UNMIK mission has also been required.
