According to him, this is EU business and that the US will be there to help.
The US government will not lead the process between Belgrade and Pristina, this is a job for the EU, but we will be there to help as much as we can.”, he said.
On the other hand, he reminded Serbian media that Kosovo is an independent state for the US.
But what normalisation will be and what agreement it will be, we don't know yet. Any permanent solution should come from negotiators -- that is, from Beogard and Pristina. The solution should give stability to the region and not make the region unstable. The US does not have a red line, nor do they say and accept anything that comes from Belgrade and Pristina. But we say we are open to the solution and are open to see what kind of agreement is between Belgrade and Pristina, and we know there will be no agreement if there is no negotiations.”, he said.
On the other hand, he said the tax is not useful in this situation.
“We think tax is not useful in this situation and must find a way to go about what we're talking about.”, the US diplomat said.
Asked about a possible division, Scott answered by saying I don't know if this solution is real.
He added that two independent countries could decide on the border between them.
If this is a part of the solution, we don't say we're against or we are, but we're going to consider what the solution is, but what I see is not real.”, he concluded.
