With the resolution adopted in the Kosovo Assembly initiated by the Social Democrat Party, it is required for the total removal of the roaming tariffs, but only after July 31st 2021.
The chairman of the Board of Regulatory Authority for Electronic and Post Communications(ARKEP), Kreshnik Gashi in an interview for kp, claims that the joint agreement reached in November last year between the Government of Kosovo and the Government of Albania for gradual reduction and the complete removal of the roting tariffs.
The resolution actually talks about the removal of roaming tariffs, but citizens should keep in mind where they travel should be connected to the networks of countries they travel to. However, full tariff removal will occur on July 31, 2021. From now on, however, we will have reduced tariffs to a rate of around 90 per cent. This has been the solution that was certainly offered after consultations with operators, but also with the aim of implementing the agreement in such a form that would enable citizens to benefit and the tariffs have been dropped since June 15th of this year”, Gashi says.
Gashi says the prices roting between these two states are down by about 90 per cent. He has also told about the telephone award under this agreement.
This year's “from June 15th, has started reducing roting tariffs in Kosovo and Albania from all operators, both Kosovo and Albania, and we already have a reduction of about 90 per cent of the existing prices. We have an additional fee from the local fee, which is about 5 cents per telephone for those traveling to Albania, while for the accepted calls the fee is 4 cents per minute, which is a relatively reasonable price at a reduction of about 90 per cent of the existing tariffs for citizens who have travelled to Albania and vice versa”, stressed Gashi.
The respective regulatory authorities of Kosovo and Albania under way of the intergovernmental agreement that has made their decisions, consulted operators, and already these decisions are in effect.
Meanwhile, in a proposal for Periscope, Luka has clarified the matter.
He has said that implementation of the deal on the removal of Rwaming tariffs has started, and that the deal reportedly after the signing starts the price cut at 90%.
The Agreement clearly states that immediately the discounting of the price begins about 90%, and in 2021 it will be completely removed”, Luka told Periscopi.
The agreement on the removal of roaming tariffs between Kosovo and Albania was signed at the collection of two governments in Pec in November last year.
