Rama opens the campaign: Opposition is incompetent, we are workers

Our 30-day marathon for the June 30th elections and the confirmation of the Socialist Party and our candidates today, as the undisputed leader of change and development in every municipality of Albania. Today, the 30-day marathon begins for a clearer political battle than ever before between the past and the future, between us who want a democratic country and those who want only power through violation of democracy”, Rama said.

Citing June 1st, the children's holiday, Rama said that the future wants to be built for them.

June 1st is the day of children and the future we want to build for them, making reforms that no one could previously imagine. This is our obligation to our children. Such choices, abandoned by political opponents, are also part of the future. They fear the judgment of the people in choice, so they threaten to let the people choose. Therefore, there are ways that we will be forced into an anti-democratic clash”, the prime minister said.

According to him, those who think they will prevent Albanians should think twice before receiving the right legal response. As far as elections are concerned, whether they are a democratic or anti-democratic process, Rama said:

The choices without the main opposition are anti-democratic unless it is prevented from entering the election, but when it chooses to rule itself out, there is nothing anti-democratic. Think for yourself what choice there will be in this country if they are made in the whims of political parties. What a shock our political life will become tomorrow, if we yield to the burning of mandates and violence against institutions, only to go against the fundamental principle of democracy, which is vote. If the hostage policy to overthrow the government today and choose to impose a government according to their whims for early elections would be a unique case in the world. But that's not gonna happen”.

Finally, Rama drew the comparison between the opposition “collapse” and the government of “construction”.

They have their right to fight the government. They have all the right to cry out against everything the government does, even insult and curse us. It is their right to sabotage the start of negotiations with the European Union for Albanian citizens. But they forget that they have anything but to commit political suicide, fall the wall upside down and blacken Albania's face in the world. They have a problem: they're very few. We have the advantage that we are too many. They are lazy and unable to run while we are workers and committed to being in the direction. They are cowards and alarmed by the Justice Reform, while we are courageous and determined to make this country, a state where justice is one for all and all are equal to justice. They're panicking and therefore resorting to violence, we're on our right and therefore we look to Albanians. They are blinded by despair, and we have been chosen to lead and we will walk only straight ahead. We are not the best, but better than us, this country has not seen”, Rama said.
