Tens of crew members were rescued after the explosions at the Cocouka Courageous and Front Altair, owned by Norway.
Both Iran and the US said they evacuated the crew, writes BBC.
Blasts on one of the world's most heavily loaded oil routes come a month after four oil deposits were attacked by the United Arab Emirates.
No group or country has accepted the incident in May, which has also caused no casualties.
The US at the time blamed Iran, but Tehran denied the charges.
