He says that with this [...]
He says this law will protect children from achieving their potential.
“Today the Kosovo Assembly has adopted the Law for Child Protection. But what happens next? To Riyadh, 14, with cerebral paralysis, or Dafinen, a 10-year-old girl who lives in a foster family? Adoption of this law is only the first step towards a path that requires commitment by all, so Riyadh and Dafina can be protected and can realise their full potential”, he has said.
It has called on civil society, institutions and international organisations and agencies to work closely with the community to explain the benefits children and their parents have from this law.
According to him, no child should be neglected, abused, exploited, and every child should be equipped with necessary care, health, and well - being, in line with the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
“We, like U NICEF, promises we will continue supporting Kosovo institutions to translate this law into services for children. U n NICEF is mandated by the General Assembly of the United Nations and will contribute to the protection of children's rights, to help meet their basic needs and expand their opportunities to achieve their full potential”, he said.
According to him, U n The NICEF in Kosovo aims to ensure that all children, regardless of their socioeconomic or ethnic affiliation, have access to quality and friendly services and opportunities to help them survive, develop and reach their full potential and become active and responsible citizens of the community.
