Mustafa said Nekibe Kelmendi was intellectual and prominent activists, who despite great challenges loved Kosovo very much and made a tremendous contribution to its construction.
“Nekibes in retaliation for the national event, the Serbian deputy massacred his husband, Bajram Kelmendi, and two sons, Kastriot and Condition. Over this great pain it cultivated the ideal of independent and democratic state. Nekib was a complete personality, which in the most difficult times for Kosovo became a symbol of the sacrifice and dedication of the strong Kosovo woman to give everything to the country”, Mustafa said.
LDK leader said Kelmendi was a woman who had patience and courage to clearly express her positions.
“Today, with Nekiben, we commemorate all our Kosovo women and activists who, despite the great resistance in their lives, dedicated the event to our statehood”, he followed.
Nekibe Kelmendi was born on May 11, 1944, in Pec, and died on June 19, 2011, at the age of 67, in Pristina.
