At the time, this institution was accredited, even though it had no objects and counted very few academic staff.
While this year, the University of Mitrovica may not be accredited at all, as in the report of two foreign experts at the Board of the Accreditation Agency, it has been estimated there is not enough quality in studies, KTV reports.
Anca Pharacariu and Oana Sarbu's report recommends to the university that: <x0-confirmation methods for student evaluation, develop an internal accountability of quality that is not dependent on external accrediting processes, and provide good practices for managing the quality of standardised programmes in this institution”.
The Student Parliament fears that as a result of this recommendation, the university could be closed, so it warned protests.
Even Mitrovica University spokesman Ahmet Jasahri has said there is no reason for not discrediting this institution, since they have all conditions met.
Mitrovica's deputy leader, Faruk Mujka, expresses regret over the possible disrepute, but says this institution should boost quality in education.
In addition to the University of Mitrovica, there are two other public universities at risk of closure, the one from Prizren and Pec.
Gazmend Luboten, chairman of the Accreditation Agency Board, has said these provisions will be addressed by Friday.
