Illegal complaints commission accredited research programmes

Decisions contrary to the Law for Higher Education have been made by the Commission for complaints by the Kosovo Agency for Accrediting (AKA). This commission, which was established last year at the recommendation of the European Association for the Security of Quality at Higher Education (ENQA), has accredited programmes which the State Council [...] rejected.
Illegal decisions, the Commission has taken them from February to May of this year for several higher education institutions, writes Koha Ditore.
Such interventions, according to KSHC members, could pose a risk to the ECQA Agency's membership and to the European Book of Quality Security in Higher Education (EQAR). The board is considering the facts and if it proves there have been serious legal violations it is expected to address the prosecution. The paper has requested answers from Commission Chairman Shykrane Gremizaj, why the commission intervened in the competencies of the KSHC, but it, although promised, has not answered written-minded questions.
The establishment of the complaint commission in this agency is not submitted to the Law for Higher Education, but was based on an Administrative Guide, which it was issued after the ENQA recommendation.
