The American citizen who has been identified as Aftabjit Singh, 38, was arrested by police. He allegedly fired the BB, which shoots small metal cannon shells in Washington's capital on Saturday.
A number reported hearing gunshots before the crowd left in fear. Officials still have no record of these statements.
He is accused of possession of an illegal BB weapon, which has dangerous content. It is expected today (June 10th) that the court hearing in which his decision will be made will be held.
Elizabeth Hernandez, 19, told the AP that she heard “pop, pop” during the parade. Then he added that he ran, entered a restaurant, and hid in the bathroom.
Other witnesses claimed to hear noises of metal barriers falling.
