According to the Association for Transport of Goods and Logics, German goods transport companies lack 45 thousand to 60 thousand truck drivers, and their spokesman has warned that they are “close to collapse” due to lack of labor power.
This type of work is not attractive because of wages and poor working conditions, and this has prompted representatives of this field to promise to improve them.
They also want to get more women among professional drivers at the moment, as only 1.7 per cent of truck drivers in Germany are women.
