The EU's office in Kosovo has launched the campaign for security and health instead of work, “Healthy working countries: managing dangerous substances 2019”.
In this case, it was said that despite progress there are major shortcomings in the security of jobs in Kosovo.
The head of the sector for co-operation at the EU Office in Kosovo, Luigi Brusa, said safety at work is fundamental and fundamental principle in the European Union.
Regarding the security of work in Kosovo, he said things are not going so well and for that in the progress report there has been great criticism. For that reason, Kosovo institutions should be more active for rules and laws to be implemented.
The role of institutions is for rules to be put into effect in order to be implemented. When we talk about safety at work, the workplace where work is done, the building of scaffolds, and various factories have tools that can be dangerous. Inspectors must forward all measures to jobs and he must verify all that is for security assessment”, he said.
Part of this launch was Labour and Social Management Minister Skender Recica, who said there is progress in terms of job security.
He also indicated reforms he has undertaken as minister to further job security. While, it announced that within two weeks around 100 construction sites have suspended due to lack and safety conditions at work.
The security situation at the workplace in Kosovo has progress, but we have not yet reached the right level. We enjoy this campaign”, Minister Recica said.
Meanwhile, Chief Labour Inspector Valon Leci's task officer declared their activities under way to implement legislation and security at work.
“Fokus and targets have security at work and mainly construction. We only have one death this year, unlike last year. We are undertaking and many other activities that are largely conscious”, he said.
