Two decades of liberation but still no visas for Kosovars

The high unemployment and poverty rate, the impasses in the education and health sector, the failure of parallel structures in the north, non-liberalisation of visas with the European Union is estimated at the main failures of Kosovo institutions in the two-decade liberation. Besides problems presented in terms of health and education, Kosovo citizens are facing [...]
In addition to problems presented in terms of health and education, Kosovo citizens are also facing a lack of visas to travel abroad. Also, integration into the European Union does not seem to be close to Kosovo.
Integrated Process Knower Besnik Vasoli has told “Zerin” that Kosovo had and will have a more complicated path than other states in terms of the EU integration process. The fact that we declared the last independence from the region and did not secure recognitions from all member states will determine our journey for a long time. We were the last to negotiate the SAA, we are the last to apply for candidate status and for opening negotiations, which are not known how they will go, because we have no recognition from all EU states”, he has declared.
As far as visa liberalisation is concerned, Vasol has said that Kosovo has lost enough time with the demarcation, as the main condition for completing this process. But in addition, he has said this process has approached Kosovo differently than other countries from internationals, as more criteria have been set. This approach took much longer than it did to countries in the region. Furthermore, the political stalemate about Demarketing contributed negatively to this process, lost valuable time and now we are awaiting the political will of EU member states, as technically the European Commission confirmed that Kosovo has implemented all the” criteria, he stressed.
