A small number of citizens, along with unionists, have protested today in front of the Kosovo Assembly, as a sign of disappointment to contest RTK's tax, which they claim to be billed by citizens through electricity bills.
Rashit Gashi, a KED worker who once worked for the Elektro-Kosovo distribution, said that as a citizen of Kosovo, he would not allow that.
As union activists and citizen of this country today, I have come out as a sign of discontent and as a symbolic act against RTK tax, which is guaranteed and is supposed to be billed through electricity bills. I, as a former ElektroKosovo distribution worker and now a KED worker, oppose this tax through energy bills. And today I've come out here to express my revolt over this tax. This is a sign of frustration for all the luck that will be billed also on chickens, cows, cow jars, chicken cholera, also on mosques, churches, tree plantations and elsewhere where there are power units”, he said.
Despite the small number of participants in this protest, Gashi says the announcement has been made through social networks, for which most protesters have not expected. He has shown how they will act if they fail to consider their concerns.
This is a sign of awareness for all consumers and citizens, as well as honored deputies to know what taxes the citizens want to bill... if they don't care about our concerns, I'm going with some of my colleagues I'm going to go out with, like KED and distribution workers, and we're going to fight this tax and ask to join us all of our citizens”, he said.
KEK Deputy Union Chairman Nedzat Llumnica says that with this tax, KEDS workers are also hurt.
“Even I as KED unionist believe that KED workers are hurt with RTK's tax, just as they were damaged earlier in the past when they have employees of the Kosovo Energy Corporation. There have been available applications in every country even in countries where there was no chance of having television. I appreciate that television is not public and that citizens should not respond at all. I don't know what Kosovo Assembly deputies think of this reason, when the MP violates the constitution, then citizens what they will do”, Llumnica said.
