Kosovo police during the action -- Kontrabanda -- where the majority of them Kosovo Police officials were arrested over 30 persons -- have arrested a Russian citizen, a worker. UNMIK, Mikhail Krasnochekov.
Krasnochekov had co-operated in obstructing the Kosovo Police action, even allegedly his motor-share with which the trees were cut down on the road.
I spoke to him personally. He fully supports our position that such an act is a blow to the prestige of the United Nations”, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Versin said today.
He added that this is of particular importance to Moscow because it is a Russian citizen, but according to him, it is also important that he is a UN official.
“We will ask this question at the UN Security Council session on June 10th”, he said.
