Captain of the immigrant ship in Lampeduza is arrested

After five countries offered to take the immigrants Friday, Captain Carola Rakette of the Dutch-flagged ship Sea Watch 3 directed its rescue ship to the port of Lambedusa, hitting the boat of border defence force.

Immigrants finally entered Italian soil after leaving Sea-Watch 3, which saved them more than two weeks ago.
Italy's interior minister, who opposes immigration, Matteo Salvin, had refused to let immigrants enter Lampeduza until other European Union countries agree to take asylum seekers.
After 17 days at sea, immigrants embraced the ship's crew and kissed the dock after arriving on the island.
