Cakaj has written on Facebook that four important messages have emerged from this meeting with Milanes, and one of them is Italy's support for the immediate opening of European Union negotiations with Albania.

In margins of Central European Initiative Meeting in Trieste, even a bilate meeting with Italy's Foreign Minister, Mr. Moavero Milanes
Four important messages from today's meeting:
1. Albania and Italy remain committed to strengthening bilateral engagement in all areas of mutual interest;
2. Albania and Italy will deepen bilateral co-operation in the service of strengthening the Central European Initiative;
3. Italy supports opening EU membership negotiations immediately according to the European Commission's recommendation;
4. Albania, Italy to Continue Fine Co-operation Under Troika, Operate of Albanian O Headship SCE in 2020;
Albania and Italy remain irreplaceable strategic and political partners for each other.
