Vuchy's opening word
Serbia's President Aleksandar Vuciq has taken the first word in this discussion, saying that Serbia will do whatever is possible to reach an agreement with Kosovo”. But that's what Vucinch says, the help of the entire world is necessary.
“We will do whatever is right to reach agreement with Pristina. I think the current situation is quite pessimistic, but that does not mean that we will not do the best we can to share peace and stability in the region. Half of Kosovo is divided, half of the international community recognise independence and half are not. In this situation we need to find a solution”, Vuciq said at the discussion panel at Slovakia's HINAGlobsek forum.
The political situation at this point is to try to find a solution and hope to have more courageous people not only in Pristina and Belgrade, to accept the compromise to be in favour of both sides. We want to find a solution that will be in favour of both sides. We kind of want to find a solution. I'm honored to be here with President Djukanovic and President Thaci. I'd like to say hello here, also Catherine Ashton.
Thaci's opening word
After Vuciqi's opening speech, the line was to Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, who has said that Serbia is the one hindering dialogue”.
“>We wanted agreements with Serbia that would bring mutual recognition, without borders with ethnic lines. An agreement that would bring Kosovo's membership to the UN and that would bring recognition of five EU countries, including Slovakia. In Berlin we would have been able to make more progress. I believe this deal can be reached this year, which is 2019”, Thaci said, follow Periscope.
There can be no dialogue, if we set conditions for dialogue, as Serbia is currently doing. And no agreement can be reached with all this hindering approach of Serbia, in its obstructional efforts for membership in U. Interpol NESTO. But I believe that in the coming weeks a climate for continuing dialogue will be developed, and the Paris Summit would be a very good opportunity to take concrete steps to continue dialogue and achieve the” agreement, he says.
THACHING DISCUTES VUCH FOR TAKA
Kosovo President Hashim Thaci has been asked by Serbian President Vuciq when Kosovo will be ready to remove the tax. That question he says is asking because the moment Kosovo removes the tax, Serbia returns to dialogue.
The problem of dialogue is not in Belgrade. Kosovo Albanians from Hashim Thaci's perspective is that Kosovo is an independent state. Based on our Constitution, the entire territory of Kosovo belongs to Serbia. He said we have imposed taxes because of Serbia's aggression. What we're doing is we're doing our job. These guys have put the tax against the tax deal, but I have a question when you're taking the tax off. You take off the tax, we're willing to resume dialogue immediately. You have imposed the tax because Serbia does not recognise you as an independent state”, Vuciq has said, led Periscopi.
President Thaci later responded to Vuciqi, saying he doesn't give a damn about the tax.
“Vucciki doesn't care about the tax, I know he's lost several million, but politically he's happy but politically he's good at it, but I hope the next weeks we have increased engagement and the dam continues. But I know that Serbia wants to continue the dialogue because this is also good for its European perspective and the perspective of dialogue”, Thaci has said.
QUESTIONS
Ashton: What can we do for you?
Former EU mediator in Kosovo dialogue Serbia Catherine Ashton has told Thaci and Vuciqi that they have broken his heart. She says this after saying that at the time she was committed to Kosovo talks, both countries have reached a very difficult agreement.
I can tell the presidents of Kosovo and Serbia that it has been the privilege not only to help you, not only you, but also the people you represent. At the time these two were not presidents, and I want to express my gratitude for working hard and achieved something that seemed impossible. But it breaks my heart now because when I remember that reaching the first deal has been very difficult and I haven't believed since then you still have such problems. I understand President Djukanovic is more frustrated with this process because you have to do more. There are many people in this room who can help you, what more can we do to have people's confidence and give them room to talk about. I honestly don't believe that right now you have a chance to do something”, Ashton said.
Thaci reports -- Haradinaj
President Hashim Thaci has asked whether the dialogue has even been difficult because of his reports with Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj.
These are some parts of the answer:
The Serbian “List has not allowed citizens to be part of political life and to write the Association statute on the part of Serbs. They must work harder on the IBM and energy agreement. Regarding developments in Kosovo, I said there are more than 70 per cent of citizens who want the agreement and continue the dialogue. I don't care about everyday politics. We have created a negotiating team that will deal with dialogue and are fully unified. Once again, I want to remind you that we are isolated, we have no liberalisation, I know this is not about Serbia, but rather scepticism and criticism, but I know that it's our right”, he said.
Foreign journalists' question: Vuciq, are you with Putin or with the EU?
Serbia's President Aleksandar Vuciq journalists have asked whether Serbia is with Russia or with the European Union.
He answered this way:
We have our orientation and we have our way to the EU, I have told President Putin that, and we're afraid of your leaders. Serbia is an independent state with prospects towards the EU and good relations with Russia”, he has said.
Vuciq: Wherever we go, we're asked about separation, not about agreement.
Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, has declared that wherever he goes, the only question is whether the partition of Kosovo or the exchange of territories will occur, but no one asks whether an agreement will be reached that will regulate the relationship between Serbs and Albanians.
Whenever we go and whenever we have these kinds of panels, the only question is whether Kosovo's division, whether it will happen or whether you call it or no one asks whether we will reach an agreement that will regulate the relationship between Serbs and Albanians and if we will do something for ourselves, which means it is more important what we will do for peoples and other states. It's okay that Germans, Americans, Russians and others are interested in this issue, but the biggest issue important to us is those who live there and we have to do something about our future”, he said.
He said the situation is not among the best and that it is pessimistic about the future, but stressed that all should commit to maintaining peace and stability in the region and finding a possible solution. /Periscope.
