Attij completes his mandate in August, while it is expected that Great Britain will appoint a new ambassador to Kosovo.

The Albanian-speaking ambassador is known as one of the most active diplomatic missions in Kosovo.

It has been accessible to citizens, often answering questions from citizens on social networks.

The British ambassador continues to write regularly against corruption, organised crime and nepotism in Kosovo.

In recent months, O'Connell has even left the Property Verification Agency Board after rejecting the appointment as its director of Naser Shala, known as commander “Fyra”, which he considered to be political and unqualified.

O'Connell was appointed to head the diplomatic mission of the United Kingdom in July 2014. He had served earlier in Kosovo, committed by the British government.

Britain's ambassador to Kosovo was Ian Cliff.
