10,000 people dead within one year in Kosovo

The source of data on this publication is the Founding Record of Death based on Civil Status Law No.04/L-003.

The deaths reported by family members and recorded in the amza for deaths in 2018 were 991, of which deaths occurred only in Kosovo 8998, while the deaths that took place outside Kosovo have been recorded in 993.

Of the total reported deaths in Kosovo alone, 4959 are men or 55.1%, and 4039 are women or 44.9%.

42.9% of death cases have occurred in health institutions, while 55.3% have occurred at home and 1.8 elsewhere.

According to the municipality where the event occurred, Pristina takes first place with 2531 cases of death or 25.3%, Prizren's second place with 995 or 10%, the third, Peja 665 or 6.7%, etc. 79.9% of the dead are 60 years old and older.

The first capital of the year takes part at 35.4%, while January month takes first place with 9.7% of reported deaths. Albanians attend 90.1%.

Violent deaths in 2018 have been reported 177 cases or 1.9%.

Disaster 129 or 72.9%, suicide 27 or 15.3% and murder 21 or 11.9%.

In disasters and murders they dominate the age of 2049 men and women, and in suicides they dominate the age of 50 and more of both men and women.

A total of 242 were reported dead babies in 2018, and the total turnout is 2.7%. Men 134 or 55.4%, women 108 or 44.6 %.

Dead babies up to 6 days have been 147 or 60.7.%, 7 to 27 days have been 50 or 20.7% and 28 days to 1 year have been 45 or 19%.
