Mount Agong's volcano drew lava and stones at a distance of up to three miles [3 km], while its ashes have been scattered in some villages. Authorities have not reported any deaths.
Officials offered 50,000 masks to residents of the area, although the alert level remained on the same scale and the volcano's activity did not rise. Authorities have made no shift in the population.
By the end of 2017, officials had increased the level of alarm because of the increased activity of the volcano.
In the 1963 explosion, more than 1,000 people had died in ruins.
The island of Bali, which is famous for its beaches and temples, attracts about five million visitors a year, writes “Reuters”.
