According to reports of Serbian media, which are based on anonymous sources within EULEX embassies and mission in Kosovo, there are police and civilians of Serbian, Albanian and Bosnian nationalities on the list of 46 people.
According to the prosecution's investigation, suspects were listed along with all names of those suspected of smuggling, abuse of office, bribery and corruption.
Of the 46 suspects, 25 are Serbs, 20 of whom are police officials belonging to different entities and five civilians and owners of companies. Another 21 are Albanians and Bosniaks.
Referring to anonymous sources from one of Pristina's most influential embassies and a senior EULEX official, it becomes known that the investigation into police officers has begun last year.
Police officials, including members of the border directorate, have been monitored for a year under suspicion of smuggling conducted in northern and southern Kosovo.
The programme also has protected witnesses from police. Their testimony is linked to the bribery of an entrepreneur. Two EULEX mission members have participated in the entire operation”, Serbian media quoted a EULEX source.
