In his report on Kosovo, European Commission has made it known that Kosovo has noted progress in implementing several key EU-related reforms, especially in terms of improving rule of law and public administration.

The report also mentions the large number of deputy ministers at Haradinaj Government.

The government's excessive “Ration of the government, including further increase in the number of deputy ministers, has continued to affect its credibility and effectiveness”, the EC report said, broadcast Telegrafi.

The report stresses that the situation in northern Kosovo continues to remain challenging.

Kosovo's “judicial system is in an early phase. Several advances have been achieved following the adoption of the Law on Disciplinary Reservate Responsibilities of Judges and Prosecutors and the Law for Mediation and Advancing the Electronic System of Case Management. The judiciary is still vulnerable to political influences”, the report says.

Regarding the normalisation of Kosovo-Serbia relations, the report is said to still have work to do in this regard, citing the 100% tax on products from Serbia and Bosnia.

“As far as good neighbourly relations and regional co-operation are concerned, Kosovo continued to participate in most regional forums. However, Kosovo's decision to impose a 100% fee on imports from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina has damaged regional co-operation efforts. As for normalising relations with Serbia, Kosovo has remained engaged in dialogue. However, the Kosovo government must revote the fee for imports from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Kosovo must make significant further efforts to create a favourable environment for concluding a legal agreement with Serbia. Such an agreement is urgent and decisive in order for Kosovo and Serbia to advance on their European roads”, the report is highlighted. /Telegraphy/
