British Ambassador Ruairi O'Connell took part in prayer honouring the May 22nd 1999 fall in what is known as the Vushtrri Massacre.
Along with the head of the Vushtrri municipality, Xhafer Tahiri, they have also met the family members of the victims who were present at the cemetery.
Ambassador O'Connell said the victims, regardless of ethnicity, deserve justice.
Every single victim regardless of whether they are Albanians, Serbs, Roma, Ashkali, Bosniaks deserve justice. But more than anything they deserve for their experiences in showing and accepting”, he said.
O'Connell added that reconciliation begins by telling and listening to the truth, even quoting a woman who, according to him, demands justice and not revenge.
“We should remember and accept what happened in Kosovo. I was touched by what a woman who had lost her brother told me today: We don't want revenge. We want justice, so that this never happens again”, it's over O'Connell.
